Postdoctoral Fellowships at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. The Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions offers a one year postdoctoral fellowship (with an optional second year) designed to provide supervised experiences in treatment, assessment and research. The faculty within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry has an international reputation and Johns Hopkins Hospital has been rated by US News and World Report as the country’s premier hospital for 18 consecutive years. There are three broad clinical components to the fellowship. The Psychological Assessment Service provides in- and out-patient assessment of cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, personality and psychiatric functioning. The Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment Service provides evidence based treatments of Mood, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive, Attention (i.e., ADHD), Tourette’s and Conduct/Oppositional disorders. The Medical Illness Service treats children that have behavioral or emotional issues that are associated with their medical problems. Didactic training includes weekly divisional research and clinical seminars; in addition, training opportunities are available through other departments within Johns Hopkins or at allied institutions. Postdoctoral meetings will focus on professional development and research opportunities in developmental psychopathology, evidence-based practices and behavioral medicine. The fellowship offers a very competitive stipend plus health insurance. The fellow is afforded two weeks vacation; additional time is provided for sick leave and to attend at least one professional conference. Interested applicants must complete all requirements for a doctorate in clinical or school psychology before August 1, 2010.
