The University of Rochester Medical Center, Division of Neurodevelpmental and Behavioral Pediatrics - invites applications for a full-time clinical psychologist position. The division, part of the Department of Pediatrics, offers interdisciplinary clinical care, research, and training in Developmental and Physical Disabilities through diagnostic and treatment clinics, psycho-pharmacotherapy, consultation to schools and community agencies, a community based crisis intervention service and transition to adulthood initiatives.  An active research portfolio includes studies funded by NIH, MCHB/HRSA, and Autism Speaks focusing on children with autism and other developmental disabilities, as well as studies of neurotoxicology.

The division houses a federally-funded University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. We have an interdisciplinary team that includes approximately 75 faculty and staff from more than 15 disciplines.

As a clinical psychologist, the primary functions of this position include provision of outpatient behavioral treatment and participation in developing, leading, and monitoring outcomes for the following programs:

  • Interdisciplinary feeding program that incorporates medical, behavioral and parent training interventions and is grounded in evidence-based practices and an understanding of child development
  • Parent training for families of children with developmental delays/disabilities with challenging behavior

Qualifications: Doctoral degree in psychology and licensed or license-eligible to practice as a psychologist in the state of New York are required. Candidates must have considerable experience and knowledge in the area childhood developmental disabilities and behavioral disorders, assessment and treatment of childhood feeding disorders, and parent training.  Preference will be given to candidates with Spanish speaking skills, relevant publication record and experience with program development and grant application and management.
