Full-time Psychologist, Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH), Phoenix (posted 12/19/16)

The Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI) at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) in conjunction with the Pain Medicine Service is seeking a second full-time psychologist to meet the needs of our fast-growing service. The Phoenix Children's Hospital Pain Medicine Program is the only comprehensive pain management program in Arizona and the Southwest, and was a 2015 American Pain Society Centers of Excellence award recipient. Our multidisciplinary pediatric pain management team works closely with all areas of the hospital and provides a wide range of treatment options for children in pain, including pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and interventional services.

This exciting position will include the evaluation and care of ambulatory and inpatient pediatric patients with complex medical conditions leading to acute and chronic pain.  Typical patients receive treatment for conditions such as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), headaches/migraines, traumatic injuries, surgery, G/I complaints, fibromyalgia, back pain, amplified musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, cancer, and other acute and chronic conditions. This psychologist will have the opportunity not only to provide services to patients and work as part of an interdisciplinary medical team, but will also contribute to teaching and supervision in the hospital’s pediatric residency, psychology fellowship, and APA-accredited psychology internship. There are also opportunities to participate in ongoing pain-focused research and to pursue new related research endeavors.  PCH seeks to enhance the diversity of its staff to compliment the cultural and ethnic richness of our patients and their families. Bilingual competency in Spanish is very desirable.

Celebrating Over 30 Years of Growth!
Phoenix Children’s Hospital has provided hope, healing and the best healthcare for children and families since 1983. Today, we are one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country providing specialty and sub-specialty inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency, and urgent care to children and families throughout Arizona and the Southwest.

For the sixth year in a row, Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been named to the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, the only hospital in Arizona to make the prestigious list. Phoenix Children's is one of only 25 children's hospitals in the United States to make the list in all 10 specialties in 2016-17. These rankings place Phoenix Children's in very rare company, among the elite children's hospitals in the nation and reflect the growing quality and reputation of Phoenix Children's premier clinical programs.
